Reflecting on November

If you had seen my 'Reflecting on October' post from last month you would have read that I sadly lost my Grandad and it has been very hard. I started this month feeling sad and wishing he was still with me and my family. However he was getting tired and it was his time to go, he had such a wonderful life and I am truly blessed to have known him and have such amazing memories to treasure for the rest of my life. At the beginning of November I thinking how I am going to get over this and how I would be when it was his funeral. Grandad's funeral took place on Thursday 10th November 2016 and in the morning of the day I was completely fine, I mean I did not know what to expect as I had never been to a funeral before and It didn't hit me until we left my Grandma and Grandad's house that this was it. He had died and he was never coming back and this was the last time I was able to say goodbye to him and to tell him I loved him. I am getting tearful writing this as it was yesterday for me when it happened. However despite telling myself I was not going to cry, I did when the hearse turned up and seeing my family crying in the car behind when we arrived. As we walked into the room it was so emotional and all I kept thinking was this is it, it is really happening. How can this be happening?! I could not believe how many people were there that turned up, the room was filled with his family and some of his friends. He would have been happy to see so many people who loved him and had great times with him. It was such a lovely service and a day I will never forget.

It has been 2 weeks since the funeral and I am slowly getting back life, I still have moments of sadness and your mind drifts off and thinks of him. It just happens, you cannot help it and I guess its just part of grieving. Whilst that is going on I eventually sent a lovely letter to a dear friend who I met on Instagram, she is into vintage and we have the same kind of interests. It really is! As I wite this, I just send her the parcel and I will be posting on social media her lovely letter and goodies she sent me the other day. I also have a facebook page for my blog!! About time really.. well I have been thinking about it for a while and decided I would just do it!! Please make sure you show it some love and give it a like - I would be so grateful!! Here is the link: My Facebook Page for my blog!

Blogging has taken a bit of a back seat recently but do not worry I am getting back into blogging again and keep your eyes peeled for new posts!!!

Hello and welcome to the Blogger Tag which I got nomiated to do by the lovely Louise. Here are my answers below to find out a little bit more about me. I have not really done posts like this but I hope you enjoy it.

To be honest I never really have, I've never thought about it and I guess not really. Keep Smiling

Hey lovely people of the internet who read my blog I just want to thank you! It means a ridicious lot to me. As some of you might know I have Instagram and I like to post on a daily basis well over the last week I have been going through a tough time after loosing my Grandad and just have not felt like posting much! Please bare with me and I'll get back into it very soon. I have been feeling down and thought it was a good chance to do a post that I can keep chatty and perhaps not keeping with the Vintage theme. I just fancy a chat, to get some things of my mind and to remember the wonderful times I had with my Grandad. He was a massive part of my life and I miss him more than he will ever know. Its a terrible feeling when you loose someone so close to you. I have never lost someone before so when it happens you feel that you are living in a dream and then you wake up one day and realise you aren't. This is life and you have to carry on and thats what he would have wanted; for all of us. He was such a great man and he taught me so much and I learned to love old music and films from the Golden Age and I had the pleasure to listen to him singing and it made me smile because he was in his element! It was something that Dementia had not taken away from him, the one thing he still had that he loved and that made me happy! I used to film some of them on my phone and I used to enjoy playing them back so we could watch them a couple months later and look back on the memories. I feel when I am ready and I can do it again and hopefully enjoy it with my Grandma. Of course it will take time and I find it so hard to look a pictires of him because it sets me off again and all I can think of is Grandad saying 'Keep Smiling'.

I was just thankful that he died knowing who we were and even though his Dementia was terrible because it stopped him from doing the ordinary things that he would of done all his life was getting dressed, being able to watch documentaries on the telly that he loved snd struggling to eat with a knife and fork. Yes so things were awful and he accepted that and just got on with it and my Grandma was there to do it. I loved being able to help him and he used to tell me off sometimes because I used to boss him around (in a nice way) and to stop fussing but It was only because I cared and he knew that.

I love you forever Grandad Tenny.
One day I'll tell my own children how amazing you were and how lucky I was to have you in my life.

My First Ever Blog Anniversary in 2015 #ValentinesDay

Seeing cakes on a blog only means one thing right? No I am not baking but celebrating the year of my blog! I cannot believe it has been a year on Sunday since I decided to blog.. where has the time gone? I am 99% sure it was Valentines Days of all days that I created 'Lottie's Lott' my Vintage, Fashion and Old Hollywood Star posts and 1% sure it was the 15th February I really cannot remember. I knew I should of wrote the date down.. but anyway lets stick with the 14th shall we!
I think coming up with a name was the hardest because I had no idea what I was going to call it. I did not want to use my name, it had to be something cool and interesting that people remembered and loved. After asking my sister about it, I chose Lottie's Lott. It worked pretty well considering I'm called Charlotte, don't you think? I loved it and since then its stuck and all my social media accounts have 'lottieslott' as my username. Its 10 times better then having to type your name out constantly plus I wanted everything to match and be the same. Apart from Facebook, people who use Instagram and Twitter all seem to have created a unique username that represents their account which I love.
Twitter is the best for promoting and also just for connecting with people and Instagram is used to share your favourite pictures and by hash tagging you are able to get likes and followers who love the things your interested in.

Thinking of a topic was very easy for me. I had began my love of Vintage, Fashion and Old Hollywood Stars and I thought it was the perfect way for me to start blogging and introducing my interest to people who were new or to those people who loved Vintage just like myself. Of course writing my first blog post would have been amazing on a old fashioned typewriter but that would just have been impossible!? I mean any blog post would have just been the best then you really would have felt like a true 1950's lady. My first blog post I deleted after just posting it because I realised it was not anything I wanted to post, it was very short and well it was not something I wanted people to read. I started probably with a Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn post because they were the only really Old Hollywood Stars who I truly knew and loved. Of course as I started researching then I found out about Lauren Bacall, Rita Hayworth and the list goes on. About half way through last year my blog started to change slightly, still keeping with the theme but instead of just writing about Hollywood Stars, then came the Swinging Sixties. So of course what do you think that came to my mind? The Beatles.. as you all know from previous posts I absolutely adore The Beatles, they are the best band to ever walk the planet and their music is timeless! This lead on to finding about 60's fashion icons like Pattie and Jenny Boyd, Twiggy (but I already knew her) and Edie Sedgwick. As this was all happening I was posting 60's images on my Instagram and ended up having a massive delete session of old pictures such as quotes and things that I did not think people wanted to see.

A year later and I could not imagine my life without my blog. I honestly do not think I would be loving Vintage as much as I do now without 'Lottie's Lott' purely because I have been able to sit down and enjoy finding new things to post. Its like my hobby that I love to do and people seem to be loving it too which of course makes me happy. Blogging is not about money.. I cannot understand why people would go into it thinking about that! It makes no sense as to why people are like that.
None of my friends really know about my blog, I just wanted it to be something that I enjoyed during my spare time. I never ever share any posts on Facebook, its all on Twitter, Instagram and Bloglovin'.

Thank you all for reading and enjoying my posts and hopefully things will only get better!
I've had a week of no blogging due to the fact I have been full of cold and its taken 10 days to actually go and left me with an awful cough.

#ValentinesDay for the single girls!

Happy Valentines Day to all those single girls out there! I think when February arrives all the single people realise how lonely you feel when all the shops start selling Valentines Day cards and gifts. Its so unfair especially when you'd love to be able to get something lovely from a loved one and to be able to get something in return. The thing I dislike about Valentines Day is that its so commercialised and there are so many tacky things. There are so many things that you can buy that is so much nicer like some perfume, a lipstick or flowers. It does not have to be so expensive.

The pictures I chose are the best, The Beatles with roses its perfect for Valentines Day! I love the photo of Audrey its like she's waiting for a guy to phone her and the Grease photo is perfect too.

In my previous blog post I talked a little bit about Lush Valentines Day Bath Bombs and today when I went into town with my friend I could not resist getting a few. I've actually seen the demo's for Sexbomb and Loverlamp which I found on YouTube. I also got Dragon egg which I do not think is in the Valentines Day collection but looks amazing. I will be definitely using one when its Sunday that's for sure! I also treated myself to a new vinyl and I got my first ever David Bowie vinyl. I am so happy. its his greatest hits so its pretty amazing. It was £29.99 from HMV but how can you go wrong when you get so many different songs!

What have you got planned for Valentines Day? I'm thinking it will be just an ordinary Sunday but I'll have my Bowie vinyl on, a lush bath and possible going to watch Magic Mike.

This is just a small post but I hope you enjoy it and possible buy if you have not already a Lush Valentines Bath bomb whilst you still can!

Livin' It Up In Yorkshire

I am going to keep this post short and sweet only because they are not a lot of photos to feast your eyes on however the ones I do show you are mouth watering

A few weeks ago on a cold auturnly saturday afternoon in the city of York. (also my hometown) I had the pleasure of being treated to some delicious food courtesy of my parents who had been given some vouchers to spend at

We opted for just a main course and let me tell you it was so filling but so worth it.
Plus we got some lovely bread too which was also a bonus.

There were so many different kind of things that you could have had whether it was expensive or slightly cheaper but its all about how much you want to spend.

Just remember good food doesn't have to be fancy, it can be whatever you want it be!

October Favourites

Photo: Tumblr

Hello everybody, So this month I am back with a favourites post. I did not do one last month but I have been buying some lovely things this month and wanted to show you guys what I had been buying. Firstly can I just say How Can we be in October!? I quite cannot believe it. This post is filled with fashion, vintage and lifestyle things which I feel you will all enjoy.

Auturmn has well and truly arrived and even though I am missing the warm sunshine I do enjoy this time of the year. I love seeing the trees loosing their leaves, I love being able to cosy up in jumpers and going outside when the suns out, wearing my boots or trainers and wearing a jacket or a light coat to take the chill off. I may have mentioned this coat last year when I bought it but it is something I had to mention and if you like to be unique kind of pieces that you will know exactly what I am talking about! If your not that kind of person, do not fear just sit back and enjoy this read. I have always been interested in quirky clothes; especially shirts. The majority of my wardrobe is based on a great shirt and over the years Topshop has brought me some great joy in making some wonderful prints. No wonder whenever I'm always in town I cannot help myself but to look in all the time. However on this occassion it wasn't a shirt I picked up it happened to be a coat but just not any old thing it was vintage. Oh yes vintage, if you have been following me on social media and also read my blog you would have had an idea that I like vintage. So one Saturday I popped into my local vintage shop in York - Bowler Vintage and happened to see this beautiful Original 1960s coat. To my suprise it fit so good and I fell in love with it. This is the perfect time to wear it and it was such a great buy however its not something I would wear when it rains - you need something that is going to keep you dry. I wore it last Sunday when I went to Whitby with the family and I was glad of it.

It even looks good with trainers and boots too! I have also been loving another fashion favourite and this one is from Topshop and is perfect for Auturmn and Winter. You may have seen on my Instagram that I have been wearing it a lot.

I absolutely love this outfit and it is perfect for this time of the year! The jumper is from Topshop and I have seen it in so many different colours. I paired it up with my black jeans as because its a dark green I thought it would go well and it really does. The added touch of course is the necklace and at the moment because we are still in Auturmn its nice to wear with trainers but now its time for the winter coats boots it will be very soon!

I love posting these kind of retro pictures into my favourites and also love doing outfit posts too!

Reflecting on October

Can someone please explain to me how October is over! When you read this post Halloween would have just been over and its pretty much Christmas everywhere you go! I love this time of year! It is so exciting and I honestly cannot wait till Christmas and then its my birthday in January, even though I'm going to be 25 which really is scary and life is passing by so quick! My twenties seem to be flying by and it is the worst thing. I'm determined to have more friends, go away on holiday and finally have a boyfriend; someone who I will get married too. Yes thats what I am hoping. Fingers crossed! October has just been like last month in a way apart from blogging. I am so disapointed with myself and I feel like a failure. I am not a full time blogger as the majority of you will and felt like I needed a few days break from it. I was busy working and on my days off I have been watching Game of Thrones which I love! So it became a back seat. However do not worry guys I'm back and feeling great. The greatest thing I realised was that my Reflecting on September post last month got so many views it became one of my popular posts which makes me so happy that you all loved it! I was very shocked by that and I want to thank you all! As you may know I have blog lovin' and its where you can read your favourite bloggers post on the app for free. It really is great and most bloggers seem to have it like myself! I find it is a great way to draw in new readers and it is such an easy way to read a post plus you get notifications everytime a blogger posts who you follow. It is as simple as that! The link to mine is on my blog so make sure you check it out!

I also decided to do a favourites post this month as I did not do one and I also went on a shopping spree and bought some lovely things that I wanted to share with you.

This has literally been my month really so I apologise this is slightly shorter than usual. I do have some changes happening at work and which means I also will be working on a Wednesday so that means Friday is my blogging day!

I felt like this had to be in this post as it just happened, sadly on Friday 28th October I lost my wonderful Grandad, it came as a shock to us all and I cannot believe he is not with us anymore. I miss him more than ever and it is so hard at the moment and I was so lucky to have such an amazing person in my life. I know he's always going to be with me. I love him so much.

You may have realised I have not been posting a lot lately and this is why. I will be back soon posting daily on Instagram but things will be back to normal soon I hope.
