Reflecting on June

It is honestly mad that I am writing this post towards the last week of June because of how quick June has flown by. It has come and gone in a matter of seconds, saying that so has this year. We are already half way through the year pretty much and this is so scary. So much has happened in this month I started off  the month feeling anxious about what was going to happen about work, so things were not good and lots of people are leaving which I totally understand why but at the same time it is so sad and there will be a massive hole in the team when they do go. They make the team who we are and that is sad. Apart from feeling sad and anxious we got an email to say the system will be changing.. we hope for the better of course and at the moment things are okay than they have been in a while. Things are getting there and improving I hope, but you just don't know what is round the corner. I have to say I am job hunting again.. I definitely want to stay working in the NHS and would love to still be a Medical Receptionist but we will see. I am looking at admin jobs in the hospital.. possible reception  there. We will see, I haven't seen anything I can apply for at the moment which is frustrating but I just have to keep looking. 8 weeks ago I met this lovely girl at work who is also a receptionist, who also happens to love vintage. Infact she dresses like a 1950s pin up girl and it is the best thing ever.. she is always telling me how much she loves my blog and insta so I thought I would give her a little mention in here, who knows if she's reading this or not. I guess I will find out soon right.. anyway she is making my time at work so much more enjoyable and I even got invited to her wedding which I am so excited about!! I'll be taking lots of photos thats for sure. Don't you just love it when you get on with someone so well at work..

Blogging has been my happiness whilst work has been stressful and all I ever want to do when I come home and blog. At the moment I have been trying to blog quite a lot and it has been a good feeling when a blog post goes up. I have been getting more and more views despite the fact Instagram really is not at its best and so many people like myself who have 2,000+ followers and end up only getting a few likes on their photos is just a little bit sad. I try and not let that bother me and I have never been into that at all. I am always lucky for the amount of followers who I have on here who read my blog, the people who follow my instagram and the people who follow me on twitter. I want to thank you all! You are all fabulous people and blogging well that is not a walk in the park, let me tell you. I have spent 3 years making my blog what it is today, and I am pretty proud of what I have achieved in such a small amount of time. I encourage anyone of you who wants to blog to do it or even Youtube, which I haven't done but love watching people make videos.

I am also very excited because it will not be long before I am sat in Crete in the hot sun for a week. Now it means so much more blog posts related to traveling etc.

I hope you have all had a fab weekend and have a great week.

My Favourite Pattie Boyd Photos I 60s Model

As you can probably tell I am really making the time to blog because it is my happy place and I enjoy being able to share with you my love of Vintage, Fashion and Old Hollywood Stars. The past 10 weeks have been crazy but the best. I started my new job and I was not blogging much because I was beginning a new chapter of my life. Now I feel like I can dedicate any spare time I have to my blog.

My latest blog posts have been on 60 icons and I am really loving blogging about them and today this post will be on a certain woman called Pattie Boyd the first wife of George Harrison. You guys know how much I love George and I love posting pictures of them on my social media so I could not resist.

This was supposed to be a 'Facts about Pattie' but when I began to put this together I realised that majority of people that know of Pattie will already know quite a lot of things about. She is known for marrying George Harrison and Eric Clapton. It was a pretty crazy that George, a few years later was Eric's best man at his ex's wedding!

So today's post is doing favourite photos of her that I picked out and wanted to share with you. Unfortunately I can not post every single picture of Pattie on my Instagram so I thought this would be a great way of showing you pictures that I love of her and probably some with George too because I adore George Harrison and love pictures of them both together, they were the 'IT couple back in the 1960's so how could you possibly not love them?

Here are a few of my favourite pictures of Pattie during her days as a model.

When I was looking at photo's of there are so many black and white ones and I really wanted some colour in there too!

I could post so many other pictures, I found some great ones and they will be appearing on my Twitter, Facebook and Instagram so be sure to check those out as always links will be below.

I hope you enjoyed looking through a few of my favourite images of Pattie. It would have been so long if I had done a few facts, I mean you cannot possible do a few sentences on her relationship with George without not going into a lot of detail.. Not to mention when Eric Clapton came onto the seen. Before I had even planned on doing this blog post, for my own interest in George and Pattie I saw so many things online which Pattie had spoken about their marriage and even YouTube video's of them both,

A Tribute to Francis Albert Sinatra

Guess what everyone.. I'm back with my vintage blog posts and this one has a dear place in my heart as I'll be blogging about Frank Sinatra who died 16 years ago today so I am dedicating this to him, his fans and of course to everyone who may not know much about him.

He was a handsome and a talented singer but there is more to him than meets the eye..

Frank Sinatra was born December 12, 1915. He was the only child of Natalie Garaventa and Antonito Sinatra who were Italian immigrants. Sinatra wasn't able to finish high school as he expelled for his disorderly conduct. As an adolescence, Sinatra's mother provided him with all that he wanted and more. When he was 23 years old, he was arrested with having a relationship with an older woman and this was considered illegal. All the troubles that he faced as a child, one thing remained consistent his love for music.

Lets get to know more about Frank with some fun facts.

  1. Frank Sinatra had several nicknames including 'Ol' Blue Eyes, Frankie and The Voice.
  2. He was a Sicilian and Italian descent.
  3. Frank Sinatra met his wife Nancy Barbato 10 years before he married her.
  4. He was able to record 1,414 songs in the studio in the span of his career.
  5. Frank had at least one song included on the music charts of each year from 1945-1995.
  6. Two of his most popular songs were 'My Way and 'New York, New York.
  7. His first singing group was called 'The Three Flashes'.
  8. He starred in 56 movies and television specials from 1944 to 1984.
Here are just a few photos of Frank throughout his life.

Thank you for reading this, I wanted to say how much people still love him and  Frank will always be an iconic Old Hollywood Star!

Over Thinking

Sometimes I question myself and wonder if I'm doing the right thing. Sometimes I compare myself to other people, mainly people who are bloggers and instagram. Sometimes I sit in my room and wonder what on earth is going on? Sometimes I think will I always be on my own? I honestly hate thinking like that and have to tell myself 'Charlotte, what is wrong? You're instagram is great and so is blog so why are you compairing yourself to others who have more followers than you? I'm just as good as anyone else! I don't like being negative or having negative thoughts, I'm always a positive person. I can hear my brain saying 'pull yourself together Charlotte'.

This year started off with a bang to the point I was still grieving with the loss of my Grandma who died so suddently it was heartbreaking. Anyway I will not say too much about that as I have had mentioned it in a previous blog post but I was just getting the over the fact that in January it was my first birthday with my Grandma and of course that made me sad. Despite feeling sad I knew I had to do something about it and I knew my Grandma and Grandad would want me to enjoy my birthday so thats what I did but it was very odd and all I wanted was Grandma ringing me wishing me 'many happy returns of the day' that she used to do and having a card from both of them. I guess now I can just keep looking back at all of the cards they sent me over the last 25 years. Happy days knowing they are with me every single day and knowing how proud they are.

Over thinking is the worst thing that can happen..right?

Because Who Doesn't Love Inspiration

Where has the sun gone? Just when I wanted to a summer goal/inspiration post it just seems to have disapeared and now I'm left thinking well should I pick something else but no, let me tell why.. so the past few weeks I have been loving so many fashion related posts that I wanted to do a few of my own and that is what I did! However Lottie's Lott isn't just about fashion, it is about vintage and lifestyle things so why would I not want this post to include these things!! Which got me thinking about the idea of having a huge tumblr scroll and found the most perfect pictures I have seen in a long time! Now if you have not seen one of these posts before, where have you been and what have you missing! So without further or do lets start..

This photo above with the sofa and flowers reminds me of something that my mum and dad would have had growing up. It is very quirky and when I think about it, its very much in fashion now and can you honestly not say you wouldn't want this in your home?

The most beautiful vintage car I have seen!! I love all vintage cars but this one just looks amazing! Why can't people just go around in these cars again, wouldn't you want a guy that you were dating just to pull up outside your house in a car like that? Or is it just me and my obsession with vintage cars..

I need to find thoese parasols.. they are the best!! and remind me of Summer so much.

Yellow is such a popular colour this year for Summer and I am absolutely loving it. Don't get me wrong it doesn't suit everyone and it may not be everyone's first choice but some yellow can look really nice, what do you think?

When In Doubt, Always Wear Bright Colours

You catch me on a hot sunny sunday evening listening to Bob Marley on the record player whilst beginning to write this post. I often find music helps me when I'm writing, it is always nice to have something upbeat in the background and what better than the man himself Bob. He is star. I have had another break in blogging which did not intend on happening in fact I always like to blog one after the other but my mind when blank and I was sat stewing on what I could blog. I hate that feeling and then you remember you just have to think about why you started writing and what you love about blog and then that's it your mind starts flowing again.

Now let's do this, so last weekend I did a super post about my weekend and it went down a treat so thank you to everyone who read it and showed it so much love. I am forever grateful and you are the reason I do it. Well I was in Topshop and came across this gorgeous jacket - actually it's called a Raw Hem Shacket and in the colour red. I saw it and fell in love with it. It is perfect for Summer when it's not too hot and I paired it up with my Beatles t shirt and high waisted MOTO black jeans. Some people love black but some people like me love colour!

Remember when in doubt, always wear bright colours.

Shop Till You Drop

The weekends are the most important part, as my Grandma used to say 'weekends are very precious' and wasn't she right? You look forward to them so much that when they come you want to do as much as you can before it all just comes to an end. This weekend has been very enjoyable to the point where it has been a weekend full of getting my nails done. my brows and shop till I drop. Let me tell you more, so on Saturday I went to John Lewis in Leeds to get my nails done with my mum and sister and got such a lovely surprise *insert smiley face emoji here* when we noticed that Alice (the lovely girl who had been doing are nails since September was back!! She was gone for a couple of months but so happy she is back! Actually made my day.. anyway she did my nails for mr and I love them. Definitely one of my favourites for sure.. they are a such a cute looking peach colour with a little bit of glitz and glam.

They really do look so pretty and I honestly believe she is the best!! Also about a few months ago she started doing my brows and waxing has made a massive difference to them. Before I used to get them in Fenwick in York where I live and I used to get them threaded but they made them look even thinner and because I have fair and thin brows this was not a good look. So anyway Alice persuaded me to get them waxed and she tints them aswell. So that was Saturday and then ended up having a Pizza Hut takeaway which was tasty. Today its Sunday of course so I have been in town most of the afternoon with my sister and had a late lunch so guess where we went.. Nando's.

Although I suppose you could say I have actually been swimming this morning which was lovely! Such a good way to finish off to the weekend, wouldnt you say?
