The Style Round Up | Style Inspiration Series

A couple of years ago now, I created a blog series called 'Style Inspiration' and I did various blog posts with lots of different kind of inspiration and why I liked them. I even did a Kate Moss version as she is my favourite model of the 90's. I cannot remember when I last did a blog like this, I think it must have been a year ago but I was looking back through my old blog posts and remembered how much I loved creating these. These images are all from Tumblr and that is where I get my inspiration from and Pinterest too which I have started to love again. I love posting style images on my Instagram and on my blog too. I love everything about style, I love modern fashion, I love classics pieces but yet I love vintage and that is the beauty about fashion. You don’t have just to stick to one type of style, not if you don’t want too.

Back in 2015 when Lottie’s Lott stopped being a dream and became the real thing I was certain that I wanted to start doing these kind of round up posts I just didn’t know where to begin. You see my heart was dedicated to Old Hollywood and that was what I was focused on. I still am and always will be but over the years I became interested it writing about different minds of fashion and that’s when I was obsessed with George Harrison and Pattie Boyd. They are both still my favourite 1960s couple and still in love with both of them! It’s funny how much blogging or a social media platform can change things in a good way. For example I didn’t realise Pattie Boyd existed on this planet which as I write this I feel ‘well why didn’t I not know’ I just didn’t know much about the 1960s and now it is my favourite era along with the 1950s of course. In the modern world, so many people inspire to dress or even look like their idols. Some people dream of being them and I find that fascinating as if you were that person you would feel so honoured.

Everybody has their own style, how they like to dress, if they were make up or not or how they do their hair. At the end of the day, let’s be unique and let’s thank the world we have style inspiration because what would I do without it.

Slowing Down As Life Continues To Go

The importance of being offline is truly the greatest thing especially if you spend your time on social media whether that is because it is to do with your job and you have a platform or whether it is just for personal reasons. At the end of the day we all have to look after ourselves and remember we are only human. Everybody needs time to just think and breathe, we all need that. Some people just don't slow down and life just continues to speed up and then things end up crashing down. Everyone is different, I like to think I'm that type of person who is calm despite situations that aren't. It’s funny how when you meet people and how differently some can be and others can be just like you but then others are completely opposite and their minds work in a way you just wouldn’t even think or dream off. That’s the beauty of life and people I guess.

In this day and age (gosh I someone feel old saying that and I don’t know why) social media gives that impression to everyone that you have to be a perfect person and even Instagram has created filters that when you apply them if changes your skin and your entire face and you end up looking completely different. I must say I don’t like using those kind of filters and if I do use a filter it’s usually taken on HUJI cam app which I love!

Here a few of my tips that I have been doing to stop being on social media..

1. Turn your phone off for a bit and have some time to yourself!
2. Step away from all the notifications from phone and spend time with your loved ones.
3. Your mind will thank you for doing this. At the end of the day your heath is what is important! The internet can wait and enjoy having time away from social media!

Reflecting on November

Happy November! Where has 2019 gone!? I honestly feel like I have blinked and it’s pretty much Christmas now! Don’t get me wrong I love this time of the year but it’s scary! Who’s excited for Christmas? Is anyone in the festive spirit yet? I always get excited when it’s the 1st of December as that’s when the Christmas songs start playing and I can finally start being jolly!! It is such a wonderful time.

As I write this post I’m listening to Frank Sinatra .. yes I have an old soul and I adore him!! He was my Grandad’s favourite and he was the one who got me into him! Whenever I listen to Frank I always think of my Grandad and my Grandma. He had the most wonderful voice!!

November has been a month of not being able to blog, watch Netflix on the laptop unless I went on the TV or my phone. It has been a month of brunching, trying out new skincare products and trying to figure out how I’m going to start blogging again. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have a brand new laptop and I can concentrate on my posts and being the best blogger I can be. I have to resort to my phone which isn’t easy but it is manageable! Least I can say I did something, not sure if I told you all but I had my hair cut short! I love it! It’s perfect and the best thing I ever did.. I was getting a bit sick of my hair and it was getting dry and I just wanted a change. Thank you again to my my amazing hairdresser Charlotte.

As November is coming to an end, who is ready for Christmas? Cannot believe I am saying that but it’s before we know it, it will be here!!

The Reason Why I Stopped Blogging And Why I Feel So Inspired

Hello you wonderful lot! How are you? I hope you are all well! Okay let’s down with the nitty gritty and explain where I have been. I must apologise about the huge gap between my last post on October and now.. I have had laptop issues and hoping my new PC will be coming next week! I am praying I really am! I have been absolutely lost without it.. no blogging, no nothing and here I am typing this on my phone. My new phone as well (YAY!) Before we get into that I have some many blog posts coming & I cannot get to actual type probably because it’s not much fun doing it on your phone! I have been on brunch dates with my friends which I have loved! Last weekend was lovely I went to Brew & Brownie in my hometown York which I adore and I’m ALWAYS going on about it !! Leanne  Juliette my beautiful friend has never been before and I thought it was the best place for us to go plus she is now Vegan and they do some great things ! We had a lovely long chat about everything .. her business, her YouTube & blogging which got me thinking about what my goals are.

I would love to be able to start IGTV videos very soon and now with my iPhone 11 Pro Max I can do this which is so exciting as I love watching other people’s & have always wanted to start my own. What works for my friend is her YouTube and that is something that she is so passionate about. She has a certain fire inside her body that she knows she is going to hit so many subscribers! She can see it and that’s what I love about her! She is such a strong person!! Myself I would love to start creating videos as I love fashion, beauty & vintage. I am obsessed with it all and it has been pondering my mind to actually just do it but it takes guts.

I’m always wanting to improve myself, learn new skills & make my little space on the internet just a little bit more amazing! The best thing about doing it as I get so much pleasure and joy from it, I also love seeing you; my readers enjoy the blog posts as well! That’s what it’s all about, you have to enjoy what you are doing just as much as others are! By the end of mine and Leanne’s brunch date I felt so inspired and it was a fabulous feeling! The poor staff must have hated us as we were in their for ages but even had a cheeky little cake after as we just could not resist! #sorrynotsorry hehe! After all it was Sunday.. and it was lovely!

Before long I will be back doing regular posts very soon! However whilst I cannot blog regularly please make sure you are following my Instagram! www.instagram.com/lottieslott as I always post!
