My Favourite Netflix Shows To Watch During Lockdown

In today's post I wanted to share with my top five Netflix shoes that I have been binge watching during quarantine. My experience of lockdown was constantly working right through so when it was the weekend or I finished working during the day these were the shows that I watched and absolutely loved them all. I would highly recommend all five of these and are all highly-rated shows on Netflix and I absolutely loved them all and was hooked on them from the get go.

 Dead To Me (2 Seasons)

Dead to me, is a dark comedy that is about a friendship that blossoms between Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini) following the loss of her husband who died during a hit and run murder. Jen learns a terrible secret that turns her world upside down.

This show came out last year and I absolutely loved it, it has very good reviews and I was so excited to watch it. I remember watching it over the weekend and I couldn't stop feeling so sorry for Jen as you follow her journey to find what happened to her husband but you go through all the emotions during it. Then season 2 came out May 8th 2020 during lock down and I couldn't have been happier, I thought it was even more brilliant that the first season. It is a lot darker than the first but very addictive as you learn more about the characters but their friendship is deeper and the traumas that bond loom larger. You go through all the emotions through both seasons as you learn of the struggles that they both face, the guilt, the forgiveness and most importantly grief. The plot twist keeps you gripped from start to end, I would 100% recommend this one.

Stranger Things (3 Seasons)

Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As loved ones and the local police search for answers they witness the extraordinary mysteries and the supernatural forces. It is ranked 3rd best TV show of the year. They have done three seasons which get better and better.

I absolutely love Stranger Things, I watched the first season as soon as it came out and was obsessed with it, I love it is set in the 1980's, the characters are great and I love the weird and wonderful things that happen in it. I finished watching it last summer when the third season came out and we are still waiting for season four but started to re watch it during lockdown and made me realise how good it is. I am sure you would have seen it or at least heard about it, it is so popular and very well written. It is probably one of my favourite Netflix Originals shows.

Locke and Key (One Season)

Locke and Key came out on Netflix at the beginning of February and it is an American horror that is based on a family who relocate  to Matheson, Massachusetts after a sudden death. It is an adaptation of a dark comic book series by the same name.

It is based on a family trauma where the family move to a old house which turns out to be filled with demons and magical keys which are a very important part of the season. The story line is amazing, it has so many twists and turns and makes you want to keep watching it, the characters are all different and very interesting. Looking forward to when the second series comes out!

Next In Fashion (One Season)

Next In Fashion is hosted by the wonderful fashion icon Alexa Chung and Tan France from Queer Eye who I adore. Each episode has a different theme and it is filled with fashion designers who are all different to each other, at the beginning they are all work in pairs, they create and design together but as it gets towards the end and people unfortunately have to leave they end up working on their own. It is great and so easy to watch! It is filled with happiness and I absolutely would 100% recommend! You get to know the designers and you get to know their journey and it gets your creativity juices flowing!

Good Girls

I had been wanting to watch for a while and have just finished it and I absolutely loved it. It is all about three suburban Michigan mothers, two of whom are sisters, who are having a hard time trying to make ends meet. They are tired of everything taken away from then so they agree to carry out a local grocery store robbery. The three down-to-earth 'regular mums later find themselves fighting for their lives as they accidently butt-heads with the running's of a ruthless drug dealer.

This is a dark comedy but so easy to watch and very attention grabbing. It makes you laugh and cry at the same time and you feel do fall in love with the characters and get to understand their struggles in life. It is a definite one to watch when you have a glass a wine in your hand and endless snacks is a must.

I would love to know if you have any Netflix recommendations or what you are enjoying at the moment?

Acceptable in the 70's I FASHION

Fashion, turn to the left
Fashion, turn to the right
Ooh fashion
We are the goon squad and we're coming to town
Beep-beep, beep-beep

Hello you lovely lot, today is all about fashion from the 70s and thought it was appropriate to pop in one of my favourite songs from such an icon I had a little boogie in my room to Fashion by David Bowie and it made me feel so excited about creating this little blog post. I have two lots of different kind of 70's outfits I wanted to show you and both have a whole lot of colour, crazy prints and a little bit of glitter but what else would you expect? I must say the 1970's is a style I probably would not have dreamed about wearing but I'm slightly obsessed with cool prints that bring so much joy and colour to your style that these statement pieces were an absolute must from my wardrobe and something that was missing. These clothes may not be for you, but you can definitely get some inspiration from these.

Before I get into the outfits, I just wanted to say that fashion in the seventies was all about individuality, there was no rules in the fashion game. The glam rock and disco styles introduced platform shoes, bright colours, glitter and satin.

Okay let's begin with outfit number one:

First up we have the rainbow stripe high neck top, I absolutely love tops like these at the moment because they are super comfy to wear and look lovely tucked into jeans or for layering underneath. I always get a large in these, just because they are a slim fit and are designed to be figure flattering so would recommend to size up if you prefer a looser fit. Plus because I'm tall I prefer a top that is a slim flit to be longer in the arms and most importantly in the body as I find that it rides up throughout the day and it is very uncomfy. All of these clothes mentioned in today's post are designed by Megan Ellaby, the founder of her brand Saturday By Megan Ellaby

Her clothes are very retro and different to what you get on the high street, I'm really into stripes and clashing prints at the moment, just something exciting about them which makes my heart happy. I had bought the Saturday Graphie T-shirt that Megan had designed to go with the rainbow strip, I saw it on the website and wasn't so sure about that, I think it was because it was a dark colour but in the end I bought it and I could not be happier with it! It is perfect and it is ever so vintage inspired..

It is a boyfriend fit T-shirt with a washed black cotton, I love relaxed fit's like this as they are so soft to wear and they are even cuter when they have a multi-coloured glitter Saturday graphic on! I must say when it arrived last week, I was so happy with it. I tried it on and I loved it and the best feeling is when you try clothes on which you just love.

Outfit number two:

Last up is outfit number two which pretty much features the colours green and pink, pink and green whatever you want to say! Anyway like the first outfit, I am obsessed and two pieces which are great for layering underneath or wearing alone. Both have the coolest retro prints you ever did see and the reason I had to get them! I know they may not be to everyone's taste but I really like them and sometimes you need to add something different to your wardrobe, it could be that it is crying out for a bit of colour and possibly a fab print whether that is a leopard print or a flower mofit print which just gives me so much vibes.

All of these outfits are great for all seasons and I'm excited to start wearing them under jumpsuits especially as the weather is changing, Although as I'm writing this post in the UK we have just experienced an unexpected heatwave which was magical!
